In my early investing days, most of the companies I bought stock in were not due to an in-depth knowledge of the company's financials. Instead, my investments felt more like bets in a casino since they were based on word-of-mouth, general news, or products I used.

As a 21-year-old back then who thought it was great experience to lose a buck here and there - this seemed to be an okay strategy, but was it sustainable for the next few decades? Was I confident that these companies would also keep my friends and family's money safe?

Because of this, I decided to learn more about investing fundamentals and how to read through quarterly reports to make wiser decisions. I gathered as much data as I could and made it into a database for myself to research all kinds of stocks and compare their performances.
